Itinerary
Welcome to Zurich! Upon arrival at the airport make your own way to the hotel. Check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Zurich.
After breakfast, join the “Best of Zurich” City tour. See the castle-like National Museum, the shopping and business center on Bahnhofstrasse, the Limmatquai with its medieval Old Town, the patriarchal Guild Houses, the Opera house and of course the lake(picture stop). Enjoy the great experience traveling uphill on the cog-wheel railway (Dolderbahn) into the “Zürichberg” district. After a short introduction to the Old Town, the city tour will end here. Stay back in the Old Town to take in the atmosphere of the Christmas market. Zurich’s oldest Christmas market is a tiny world of its own, located in the heart of the Niederdorf quarter of the Old Town. The numerous market stalls line the centrally located Niederdorfstrasse and spill onto Hirschenplatz and Rosenhof so that it is easy to lose track of time when browsing through the multitude of wares on sale. A visit to the Christmas market in the Old Town during the Advent period is an absolute must. Zurich boasts several Christmas markets so don’t miss one at the main train station “Hauptbahnhof” and the one in front of the Opera House. All the Zurich Christmas markets are open from November 22ndto December 23rd. Nearby Rapperswil (Dec 14-23) and Einsiedeln (Dec 1-9) also have Christmas markets if you want to get out of town for a bit. Both places can be reached by train within one hour. Overnight Zurich.
