Day 1 - Frankfurt / Dresden
Upon arrival in Frankfurt, meet your coach and continue your journey to the historical city of Dresden. Dresden is the capital of the Eastern German State famous for The Versailles inspired Zwinger Palace, Bruhl’s Terrace known as the balcony of Europe which stretches high above the shores of the river Elbe and the baroque style Frauenkirche. Arrive in Dresden for dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 2 - Dresden / Prague
After breakfast, meet your guide for half a day city sightseeing tour of Dresden. Visit the Residenzschloss (one of the oldest buildings in Dresden The Royal Palace) including the Green Vault which contains the largest collection of treasures of Europe from Baroque to Classicism Free time for lunch where you can sample one of the many local delicacies The German Pretzel – a type of salty baked bread made from a dough most commonly shaped into a twisted knot. Or for those who of you who have a sweet tooth why not try the famous German Apple Stroudel – this is a traditional puff pastry made with apples, cinnamon and sugar. In the afternoon we will proceed onto the magnificent city of Prague capital of the Czech Republic. It is nicknamed “The City of a hundred Spires” On arrival into Prague the afternoon is free to explore Parizska street one of Prague most luxurious streets it is considered to be the playground of the elite This is full of lavish restaurants and luxury shops . Then continue to Snemovni street to admire and absorb the stunning architecture such as Prague Castle. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at the hotel. (B/D)
Day 3 - Prague
Today after breakfast continue your discovery of Prague with a full day guided city tour and explore Prague's historical monuments. Your guided tour by coach will take you past the State Opera, the National Museum and Wenceslas Square with its statue of St.Wenceslas You will then continue through Charles Square one of the largest squares in the world at 80,550 m2 and founded in 1348 . We then proceed to the banks of the Vltava River, Charles Bridge, and across the river to Prague Castle for a walk around the castle courtyards. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to see St. Vitus Cathedral gothic architecture and it is the largest and most important church in the country! Continue your tour across the Vltava to the Old Town, passing through the former Jewish Quarter to the Old Town Square, where you will find St. Nicholas church, the Tyn Cathedral and the Old Town Hall with its astronomical clock (HORLOGE). Free time to discover the city and for dinner and then overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 4 - Prague / Vienna
After breakfast depart for the cultural capital of Europe – Vienna. Afternoon arrival in Vienna and free time for Lunch. After lunch you will have time at leisurely stroll along the lovely cobblestone walkways and admire the amazing architecture, modernist masterpieces such as the Post Office and Art Nouveau such as The Secession. Why not visit one of the famous Viennese coffee houses Cafe Sacher to enjoy the mouth watering Sachertorte a delicious chocolate cake! Or perhaps visit the world famous Prater it’s the second largest public park in Vienna and contains amusement rides such as The Viennese Giant Wheel or Liliputbahn a gauge light rail a true landmark of the Prater and known as the funniest railway in Vienna. Dinner in a local restaurant and transfer to the hotel. (B/D)
Day 5 - Vienna
After breakfast, meet your local guide for a city tour of Vienna Austria’s capital lies in the country’s east on the Danube River. Its the artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud! You will see the Opera house formerly The Vienna Court Opera in 1920 with the replacement of Habsburg monarchy by First Austrian Republic it was renamed the Vienna State Opera. The magnificent Parliament building, the City Hall and the Helden Platz in front of the Hoftburg Palace! After lunch, visit the famous Schonbrunn Palace the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers an imposing palace with 1,441 rooms! Free time for dinner and then transfer to the hotel. (B)
Day 6 - Vienna / Salzburg / Innsbruck
After breakfast, continue your discovery of Austria by heading to Salzburg. This fascinating city is divided by the Salzach River with medieval and Baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old city). In the Altstadt visit the famed composer Mozart birthplace whilst on your guided city tour. We also include the ‘Sound of Music Tour’ this is the chance to relive your favourite scenes on The Original Sound of Music taking you to the film’s iconic sites around the city while providing historical background on Salzburg's top attractions including the Mirabelle garden. Late afternoon, continue to Innsbruck for dinner and overnight. (B/D)
Day 7 - Innsbruck / Lucerne
We begin today by exploring Innsbruck , the stunning capital of Tyrol with mountainous scenery at almost every viewpoint. You will see the famous Golden Roof built for the famous Maximilian, in the Maria Theresan Strasse. We will also explore the superb former imperial residence the Hoftburg the Bergisel Ski Jump to enjoy lunch while admiring outstanding views of the Northern Chain mountains. In the afternoon we visit the Swarovski Crystal Factory where your eyes will sparkle with delight! Then we depart for Lucerne and arrive late afternoon dinner and overnight. (B/D)
Day 8 - Lucerne / Mt Titlis / Lucerne
After breakfast, depart for Engelberg and experience Mount Titlis a dramatic summit reached by the Titlis Rotair the word first revolving aerial cableway which continues all the way to the top. At the summit of the 3,000 metres a mountain a breath taking panorama as well as other highlights await you. These include various attractions the sun terraces, The Glacier Caves, The Titlis Cliff Walk - Europe’s highest suspension bridge and of course eternal snow and ice. On the glacier chairlift enjoy “The Ice Flyer” where visitors literally flyover Titlis. After lunch, continue to Lucerne for an orientation tour of this beautiful medieval town, including the famous 14th century Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument and the Jesuit church. Free time for dinner and overnight. (B)
Day 9 - Lucerne / Jungfraujoch / Lucerne
After breakfast, board the coach and head to the beautiful town of Interlaken nestling at the foot of the mighty Jungfrau Joch in the Bernersee Oberland. You have the option to discover this picturesque town at leisure enjoying the beautiful scenery and relaxing and perhaps experiencing the local Swiss specialities (a cheese fondue… for example) or you head for a full day excursion to Jungfraujoch 3,454 metres - Europe’s highest altitude Railway station. The Jungfraujoch is an engineering masterpiece! The last section has been built inside the mountain itself and the view through the panorama windows at the Eigerwand and the Eisner stations in the middle of the North Wall is a thrilling experience that awaits you! The Alpine sensation a subway inside the rock marks the centenary of the Jungfraujoch railway and this connects the paradise with The Sphinx Hall and here you will be enchanted by the captivating surroundings world of Rock, Ice and Snow! Time free for dinner in Interlaken and then transfer back to your hotel. Overnight. (B)
